Motivational Monday

Quotes of the day 'A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.' George S. Patton 'If you're going through hell, keep going.' Winston Churchill Hopefully the start of your week is not in need of a radical plan to get you through it or hopefully not in your work life or personal life, but two great quotes with inspiration to motivate and inspire you with positivity. A good plan in my opinion is always better than no plan but having the confidence to go with it with all out energy, enthusiasm and positivity and as Mr Churchill states; if you have concluded that in your life or current circumstances is in need of some form of radical change keep going and do not stop until you can see some improvement. Thoughts for the team leaders and managers amongst you. Tight deadlines and heavy workloads are all work pressures that could lead to stress, and a reduction in quality of work and in the worse case burnout. Regularly check in with the team, have time set in the working day for some down time, it does not need to be a lot but time enough for some positive thoughts, some motivation, a joke, or, a short team game. Five minutes can do it. Until next week Ask yourself a question. Have you ever faced a situation in your life where you were faced with a similar situation as mentioned above. If so, how did you deal with it, and if it happened again or for the first time; how would you tackle it. Teambuilding Tuesday

Quotes of the day 'Many hands make light work.' John Heywood 'Many ideas grow better when transplanted into another mind than the one where they sprang up.' Oliver Wendell Holmes Two great quotes which both allude to the fact that if everyone is working together greater things could happen. We all know team work makes the dream work; and, it does, but saying it is different to achieving it. It takes time, as the song once said. 'Rome wasn't built in a day,' team work needs to be planned and given some time, as a team will need to be built up and developed over time. Short team building sessions are great fun and will build on team relations but generally as a short term boost of motivation and energy. For lasting results and for a team that will gel and stick together for good. Build them up gradually. Thoughts for your team leaders and managers amongst you. Set your self a monthly progress plan. Plan time each week for the team. Set your team a task every week; this could be a game or any challenge to which can be found from many sources. Then monitor them over the months to see if their relationships progress. Challenge different members of your team to lead the games to see if you can identify any future leaders. Above all, the team should be having fun and it will be the fun that will add greatly to the speed of your team coming together. Until next week Team Wellness Solutions Deliver fun team building workshops that will build on and develop your teams working relationships, boosting moral and team spirit and bringing a great deal of happiness and enjoyment to your workplace which is the first step to achieving a bonded and more productive team. Midweek Mindfulness

"Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you are doing." Jon Kabat-Zinn "To produce at your peak level, you need to work for extended periods with full concentration on a single task free from distraction." Carl Newport As Professor Jon-Kabat Zinn put it in his bestselling book, Wherever You Go, There You Are. "Fundamentally, mindfulness is a simple concept. [...] Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally." Escape from those midweek blues by taking time first thing in the morning to give yourself time to wake up in your own time. Don't rush your shower, your breakfast your downtime. This is your time to be relaxed, unhurried and prepare yourself for the day ahead. Enjoy everything you do, take time to pay attention to yourself, on purpose and being non-judgemental. This will no doubt set up your working day to succeed and to give your best due to improved concentration and having a clear head and the knowing that to produce your best you need - as the above quote says, to give full levels of attention in one stint to produce peak performance. And as well you will feel a sense of great achievement. And, ask yourself a question Is mindfulness something that you could adhere to regularly? Until next week. Wellbeing Wednesday

Quotes of the day 'Exercise is the key not only to physical health but to peace of mind.' Nelson Mandela 'I've run my whole life for more than exercise, for mental health.' Wendelin Van Draanen Getting exercise into the workplace is difficult to do; encouraging exercise in the workplace is easy to do and to achieve it, can be difficult in certain circumstances. Wellbeing is one word in the current workplace that is being used more and more and can be a huge talking point in some circles. Workplace wellbeing, mental wellbeing, health and wellbeing - you will hear them all at some point but all are a much of a muchness. They all mean a way to get you, the employee and all of the workforce to be in a much better state of mind and body. Thoughts for the team leaders and managers among you Mental wellbeing can be encouraged by having the team take a few five minute rest breaks during the day where the team can have a quiet five minutes to themselves just to relax and reset. Health and wellbeing can be encouraged by the seniority to join a gym, take a yoga class before or after work, or to go for a walk for twenty minutes in their lunch breaks. And workplace wellbeing can be covered by simply introducing team building to the team. Until next week One question to ponder for the week ahead. Could I improve my health and doing so would this improve my mental health, and having improved my mental health, could I then impart that onto my team colleagues and improve their mental health. Food for thought. Happy Wednesday. Team Wellness Solutions Run workplace wellbeing workshops which can be brought to your place of work or to a venue of your choosing. These fun workshops bridge the gap between workplace wellbeing and health and wellbeing. For more information please click onto the website link below. Matt
Thoughtful Thursday

Quotes of the day 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.' Margaret Mead 'Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind, but great actions speak to all mankind.' Theodore Roosevelt Make Thursday your day of the week to have a thoughtful think into the future of how you can change for the better: Your career Your work life balance Your social life Your family life Your finances Your health And even, the world "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." This quote, attributed to Lao Tzu, emphasizes that even the most ambitious goals can be achieved through small, consistent actions. Thoughts for the team leaders and managers among you Set aside time in the working week for those all important team sessions. These can be used for team building or general team talks about the working day or they can be used, for example: To right down one thing on a piece of paper confidentially or not which will be passed onto your manager at the end which could be one thing that you would like to achieve at work, for your career or for job satisfaction. This will also help your manager in the best way possible to forward think the direction of their company. Until next week Team Wellness Solutions Will work closely with your team to design the best solutions to build on and develop your team to improve their team moral and team spirit and improve their overall wellbeing to have them working at their best Matt
Feelgood Friday

Quotes of the day 'Everyday may not be good... but there's something good in every day.' Alice Morse Earle 'Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.' Lyndon B. Johnson Two wonderful punchy little quotes to set you off in a good mood for the weekend ahead which hopefully will be a lovely weekend. Yesterday or today may not have been good days for you personally at work or in your social life but as the top quote says there is something good in everyday. Even if it does not spring to mind straight away, there will be something that will lighten the day. Look for it; as it will no doubt cheer you up. Today, plan for it, at work or something for the evening or weekend ahead. As Lyndon B. Johnson alludes to; if yesterday has been a bad day for whatever reason, tomorrow is ours to recover, to get over, to overcome the stress of the day before, and the weekend is the best time to do just that. Until next week. Have a lovely weekend Team Wellness Solutions Puts the Wellness and Wellbeing into your company/business through team workshops which bring fun and enjoyment to your place of work.
